Ritten House Inspiration
This piece was inspired by Ritten House Square. As I sat in the park i noticed all the thick, yellow, pollen being blown off the trees by the wind and covering the ground like hay. This made me think of a park where the ground was yellow and the trees were a yellowish orange. And since there are many children and people walking their dogs out in ritten house during the spring, I decided to include that as well. Only I did not want the piece to be completely cheerful. I wanted to give it more of a mysterious, subtly disturbing quality. This is why the figures don't have eyes or legs.

Freddie Mercury in the 70's: First attempt at a celebrity likeness
Hi everyone! I wanted to share my first try to do a celebrity portrait. I didn't do any tracing or anything (maybe I should have, looking at it now) but the sketch still looks so much better I think. It's probably because it was an immediate reaction and done with confidence since it's just a sketch and I wasn't afraid of failure. I spent hours on the face and ended it up messing it up. Anyway I still kinda like it especially the chest hair. Haha...

Rittenhouse Venus
I came up with a character for a one week assignment when the class took a trip to Rittenhouse. I liked her so much that I decided to do a second painting and use her for postcards. Only problem is that I recently looked up one of my favorite artists and noticed that one of his pieces have close to the same character. They aren't identical, but they have the same colors and everything! What do I do!? D:
I still want to use her! The first picture is the one I painted for the postcard, the second two are the original piece I did of this character and the piece that was made by Dave Glass.

Tastful Vandalism
Hey did anyone see this in the elevator this morning?....Oh darn, you must have gotten in the wrong one. It took so long to do. I really wasn't sure I would finish it in time, because nobody wanted to help...Oh well I think it looks great and is a real improvement to the school. Hope you like it! We should totally do the other one too!

In this piece I was experimenting with collage. It is acrylic paint with magazine cutouts. I took swatches of color from magazines that I found interesting and I used them to create organic shapes. I wanted to create a surreal image. I enjoy fantasy and this piece is just a snippet of how my mind interprets what fantasy looks like.
